Carys Lee is a Legal Assistant at Barton Family law and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws at Queensland University of Technology, with plans to graduate in 2027.
Carys’ passion for law began at a young age through her family connections and interest in both fictional and non-fictional legal reading. Carys continued to expand on her passion throughout high school where she was heavily involved in mooting competitions throughout universities in southeast Queensland. This passion for the legal sphere expanded into an interest in politics where Carys was a youth member with the Queensland Youth Parliament contributing largely to the Justice and Legal Affairs portfolio.
This passion for law and politics is underpinned by Carys’ lived personal experience where she understands the complexities of families and intricate relationship dynamics. Carys has a deep empathy towards victims of abuse and coercive control and particularly the effects of abuse on the development of children. Throughout her childhood and early adult years Carys was involved in the Scouting movement with a lead role in adventurous activities for children. This sparked a passion for children and their development which is reflected in Carys’ desire to work in the area of Family Law.
Outside of law and politics, Carys enjoys touch football, camping, running, the gym and anything that keeps her physically active and outdoors.
