Courtney Barton has been employed in Family law firms since 2008. She graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Law with Honours in 2009 and was admitted to the profession as a Solicitor in June 2011.
Courtney has practised almost exclusively in Family Law since that time.
Courtney’s priority is to provide exceptional and superior customer service to her clients by listening to their concerns, offering empathy and understanding, delivering on the promises she makes and providing a service that is tailored to each client’s individual needs.
Courtney understands that her clients want certainty and transparency in relation to their legal fees and caters to that need by fixing their fees.
Courtney is also a mediator and a conflict resolution specialist.
Courtney understands from her many years of experience as a family lawyer and a mediator, that the pathway to resolving a conflict is by understanding and influencing people’s emotions, because emotions drive decision making. Courtney’s view is that the best way to influence and persuade the other party to agree to the outcome that you want, is by choosing wisely which battles to fight, and by taking a strategic and, where appropriate, a collaborative approach, so as to minimise the conflict between the parties, instead of inflaming it.
Courtney provides her clients with sensible, strategic and practical legal advice, to empower them to achieve the best possible resolution to their legal problem as quickly and cost effectively as possible, so they can move on with their life, at the least possible financial and emotional cost.
In her spare time, Courtney enjoys lifting weights and spending time with her young family.
